![]() We’re into a warm (but not too warm), natural, neutral, modern look. I’m wondering if shiitake was the right color for the floor (doesn’t look bad, I am just sometimes not sure), what white to paint the trim, and what neutral colors would work for the kitchen against both the floor and the shiitake walls. I’m thinking of a white for the upper cabinets and something like tri-corn black for the bottom. Pure White by Sherwin Williams is an elegant white, which grounds the space and creates a nice neutral background to allow your furniture to shine. ![]() I’ve also seen suggestions of Origami and Alabaster.įinally, we’ll also be painting our at-the-moment quite orangish oak cabinets (so we didn’t care to match the floor to them). Was suggested Pearly White, but my first instinct was Pure White. Each easy-to-peel sample includes one large and two minis, perfect for comparing palettes, adding to your mood board, and living with the hue before youor your clientscommit. Was that the right color to paint our walls to go with that floor? Depending on the light sometimes I think it looks good, and sometimes I’m not sure.Īlso, we now need to finish painting the trim in these rooms. ColorShop peel-and-stick samples are painted by hand with two coats of real paint, guaranteeing 100 color accuracy and zero mess. We painted before we laid the floor because that was suggested to us (wish we hadn’t now). ![]() We had a pro suggest shiitake for the walls. Depending on the light it can switch from quite warm to slightly softer, cooler. Our floors are slightly whitewashed European Oak with what some say is a slight pink or red undertone, but I also see a slight gray undertone (maybe I’m wrong), and the flooring site it says the series its from are natural taupes and tans. Get it right the first time.Hi, we just painted our entire open main floor in shiitake (both north and south light). Most of the True Colour Experts, myself included, offer both virtual and in-person colour consultations. So how do you choose the right colour for your space?Īs someone who is trained in colour (including being a True Colour Expert), I have hours upon hours of training and years of experience. You need to focus on what your space needs. Heron Plume is one of my favourites for when a space needs a white that is a greige.īut remember - none of this truly matters. Greek Villa is another one of my go-to choices, especially when paired with warmer tones. I also like Origami White - it goes well with a lot of undertones and I like pairing it with bold blue tones in particular. I frequently use Pure White (an off-white) for cabinetry and trim too. My rental suite is Pearly White with High Reflective White (a true white) as the trim. My trim is Extra White, because that’s the white I liked for a slightly more white-white to go along with Snowbound. I like Snowbound because it’s an off-white but it has a hint of warmth due to a slight violet undertone. I was starting from scratch so I could almost do whatever I wanted. My house is painted in Sherwin Williams Snowbound. Remember what we just learned! You need to choose a paint colour that complements your space. But first you need to understand the differences among the cool, warm and neutral tones available so your home decor and painting makeover will turn out stunning. Give them something to talk about with a new look and a fresh coat of paint. Theres no doubt the Sherwin Williams White collection offers you many attractive color options. ![]() But don’t go choosing it just because I like it. The kitchen is a favorite room for friends and family to gather for conversation. I can tell you what my favourite whites are. But you still kind of want to know what my favourite whites are, right?
